My computer won't start after a power brown out - outage.
Most of the tower computers have a reset toggle switch located on the upper right corner just above or below the power cord. turn the switch off wait one minute the turn the switch back to it's original position. restart the computer normally.
If your computer doesn't have the toggle switch or you can't find it, locate the power cord and unplug it either at the computer or at the surge protector, wait one minute plug it back in and restart your computer normally
My Printer won't print
1. check all cables that run from computer to printer,
make sure that all cables are tight
Still doesn't work go to step 2
2. check
start -
settings - printers
In the printer window, single right
click on your printer.
in the pull down window Look for a
line with a check mark to the left of it that
says "work off
line" single left click to remove the check mark.
Still doesn't work go to step 3
3. turn off computer
4. turn off or unplug the POWER cord from printer wait 1
minute then turn on or plug
power cord in
5. turn on computer
For printers that are not physically attached to your
printer
1. make sure that the printer that you are attempting to
print to is attached to a
powered on computer, a networked
printer relies on the the computer that it is
attached to for communications. If it
is not running start it wait a minute then restart
your computer. In a
network workgroup that shares a printer, the computer that
has the printer attached to should be
started before the rest of the workgroup
Still doesn't work go to step 2
2. check

3. turn off computer
4. turn on computer
Certain programs / printers won't work on my computer that have worked previously.
Make sure you have logged on to your computer
correctly. If you don't logon
correctly you can be denied access to
networked programs and printers. If you click on cancel
you will be denied any
networked programs / printers or access. Lucas uses several
common logon names (STUDENT. CCC,
AMATH, BUS_LAB,etc) plus individuals
can have their own
logons. Remember your username, the computer will automatically
insert the name of the last successful
log on.

to log on to a currently running
computer
1. c lick on start
LOGOFF ..........
follow the prompts
2. you can restart your computer if #1 doesn't work
