READERS ARE LEADERS!!!!
I hope you had a Great Reading Summer!!! If you are looking for some great new titles, I have lots here in the library, so please come and visit.
New Accelerated Reader tests. I've added over 250 new titles, this brings the total of Accelerated Reader tests to1967. I have been trying to mark all of the AR books with a yellow dot and the point value inside the back cover. I also mark the reading level inside the back cover. This might be helpful in choosing an AR book.
If you had a library card last school year and cannot find it, please come in right away and order a new one. The price for a new card is $2.00. New students and sixth graders will be getting new library cards at no cost, since they have not had a Lucas School Library Card.
The two computer labs in the library (25 computers) can accommodate an entire class. These computers are all internet accessible and now have 4th and 6th Grade practice proficiency test loaded. On that same note I have the same 4th and 6th Grade CD's for practice proficiency tests that can be checked out by the students, if they have computers at home to accommodate the software. These CD's are loaned for a period of two weeks the same as a regular library book. Just something extra to help with proficiencies.
